SSD & RAM Upgrades for Laptops and PCs
If your laptop still has a spinning hard drive, swapping it for a solid-state drive (SSD) is usually the single biggest speed improvement you can make — start-up in seconds rather than minutes. More memory (RAM) helps if you keep lots of browser tabs and apps open.
We confirm what your laptop supports, then upgrade and move your existing Windows, programs and files across so everything is where you left it.

How we diagnose & repair
- 1
Compatibility check
We confirm drive type (SATA or NVMe), memory slots and maximum supported RAM. Some laptops have soldered memory that can't be upgraded.
- 2
Clone, don't rebuild
Your existing system is copied to the new drive, so you keep your programs and settings. If the old system is a mess, a clean install may be better — we'll suggest it.
- 3
Health check
After the upgrade we check drivers, updates and start-up programs so you get the full benefit.
What to expect
- Upgrades won't fix a failing motherboard or a weak processor.
- Very old laptops may not be worth upgrading — we'll be honest.
- Your old drive is returned to you or securely wiped on request.
Frequently asked questions
Will I lose my files?
No — we clone your existing drive. A backup beforehand is still sensible.
SSD or more RAM — which helps more?
For older laptops with a hard drive, the SSD almost always makes the bigger difference.
Can it be done at home?
Yes, most upgrades are completed during a single on-site visit.
