MacBook Keyboard Repair

MacBook keyboards from roughly 2016 to 2019 used a 'butterfly' design that's known for keys sticking or repeating from tiny bits of dust. Newer models use a more reliable mechanism but can still fail after spills.

Depending on the fault, we clean or replace individual keys, or replace the keyboard — which on many models is riveted into the top case.

    Some faults can be fixed with a clean or a replacement key cap and mechanism.

    Top case replacement

    If multiple keys fail, the keyboard or top case assembly is replaced.
